Read story →We are Lithoist — a working lithography atelier where 120-year-old presses, greasy tusche and Solnhofen limestone meet contemporary art. Limited editions, artist residencies, and obsessive craftsmanship.
“Lithography is not printing. It is coaxing an image out of a 150-million-year-old seabed.”
Founded by master printer Elena Marsh in a former brewery, Lithoist preserves the Senefelder method. We grain every stone by hand, mix our own inks from Charbonnel pigments, and pull each sheet on 1912 Voirin and 1964 Takach presses.
We collaborate with painters, photographers and illustrators to translate their work into stone. From single-day taster sessions to museum-grade editions of 100, every project gets a dedicated printer, proofing wall and archival documentation.

Full service: drawing, etching, proofing, editioning on Somerset, Hahnemühle or Japanese washi. Chop-marked, signed, documented.
